The city of Belding will receive $375,000 after the community was included in the most recent round of state road funding grants, it was announced Thursday. The city of Belding will resurface Bridge Street from State Street (M-44) to Ellis Street. The road work will include milling the existing surface, resurfacing with new asphalt, replacing the curb and gutters and applying new pavement.

At the Belding City Council's first meeting of the new year on Tuesday, city leaders heard a positive report regarding the most recent audit of city finances. Peter Haefner from the Grand Rapids accounting firm Vredeveld Haefner LLC presented the council with a report summarizing his firm's audit of city finances for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2023.
